so, i was just looking at
HamletMachine's most recent submission (
HamletMachine.deviantart.com/a… )
and the artist's comment was like "THEY'RE BOTH GIRLS FYI" and i was like "ohcool" and admittedly, one of them was more difficult to assign gender, due to certain aspects that made her look more manly (primarily the jaw, i believe, and the not totally "IN YOUR FACE" breasts, not to mention that soldiers uniforms are most often associated with male characters... but i digress)
yet most of the comments were not saying ANYTHING about the art but rather whining about it not being het, or that they didn't think she looked like a girl. i don't know how much this bothered the artist, but i have to say, i think its rather disrespectful to only post a comment saying "WHY DO YOU ONLY DRAW GAY STUFF?" or "IT WOULD BE SO HOTT IF IT WAS A BOY AND A GIRL" or "HE'S A GIRL?" or whatever... for example, if you think she doesn't look like a girl, you could tack on a constructive comment about what might help make her look more female or something... not to mention, its always nice to hear a compliment as well.
on the whole, i thought it was really well drawn, and that all the characters fulfilled their roles excellently. now i wish that the rest of the community would make themselves a little more presentable, it would be excellent. last i checked, we were here for art, not fap-material, so don't whine because you want straight people getting it on, go somewhere else.
